Hard Workers Tips
- Focus on Knowledge Early - This one is tough. You need any XP boost you can get, and Knowledge will do that. Making your first Hero a Wizard will also give the others a chance to buy helpful potions like Drunk-Me-Not.
- Annex Advorton - This Tip applies to every Kingdom Ambition in The Sims Medieval. It will give you many more QP to play with if you do this as soon as you hit 160 Renown. You'll need a Spy, Wizard, or Physician at level 5 and the Monarch to do the required quest. It will reduce the QP cost of all Quests costing 3 or 4 by 1. Don't let the extra QP bother you. Once you've reached platinum in an Ambition you can repeatedly start then cancel quests to drain your QP. Do this by heading to the Kingdom Screen's Quest tab.
- Annex Aarbyville - Aarbyville gives 20% more XP when completing a Quest, which is a hefty boost. They only require 60 Renown to Annex, as well. You'll need a Spy, Knight, or Bard to tackle this Quest. I recommend the Knight. Placing the barracks will increase security capacity, which is exactly what 'Gangs' gives you as a reward.
- Annex Effenmont - Annexing Effenmont will give you the Potion of Energy recipe, which can be used by Wizards and Physicians (and bought at their stores). This powerful potion will top off your Heroes' tanks nicely with no drawback. It can even replenish the well-rested focus buff leading to much more time to work on gaining experience.
- Use a Diverse Selection of Heroes - Having only 1 Hero at level 10 and the rest at level 4 would only get you a Bronze. Keep working with a variety of Heroes and remember that Platinum scores do give more XP but you can draw out the Quest and make up the difference by tackling Daily Responsibilities and grinding for XP.
- Do Multi-Hero Quests - Do as many Quests that involve multiple heroes as you can. You'll get experience and gold rewards for both of them, which will go a long way toward helping you Platinum this Ambition. If no mult-hero quests are available, pick Heroes that are lower level. Heroes who aren't being controlled seem to level up fast enough on their own.
- Brave New World Helps - This is an Ambition where you definitely want to do Brave New World to bring in a Monarch. Your first quest in this ambition should be one that you can get 50 RP for getting a platinum. Using the above exploit I've gotten Platinum before even seeing the 8 hour warning that Quest progress is slacking (about 30 sim-hours). In that Monarch's Free Time, take lots of strolls in the forest or hunts (and sell off surplus meat) for chances of getting a +10 Renown event to trigger. As your 2nd quest, you can build the Knight's Barracks and annex Aarbyville (Invade!) with your 60 renown/50 RP. The +20% is great for pumping up your heroes.
